Masjid Qiblatain is one of the most historically important mosques in Madinah. The Name of this place are “The Mosque of Two Qiblahs” and it know that due to special occasion in the Islamic history when the direction of prayer was shifted to Kaaba (Makkah) instead of Masjid Al-Aqsa (Jerusalem). The history of Masjid Qiblatain is linked to a major turning point in Islam. In the early years of Madinah, Muslims used to pray facing Jerusalem. During one of the prayers, Allah revealed a command to change the Qiblah towards the Kaaba in Makkah.
This is the order that was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in Surat Al-Baqarah and the message came to the prophet ﷺ when he was in the mosque. The Sahaba immediately changed their direction during prayer facing north (Jerusalem) to south (Makkah). an event often remembered by pilgrims who travel for Umrah By Bus. Because one prayer was performed facing two Qiblahs, the mosque became known as Masjid Qiblatain.

مسجد قبلتین مدینہ منورہ کی تاریخی مساجد میں سے ایک ہے۔ اس کا نام "دو قبلوں والی مسجد" اس اہم واقعے کی وجہ سے رکھا گیا ہے جب نماز کا رخ بیت المقدس سے بدل کر خانۂ کعبہ کی طرف کر دیا گیا تھا۔
مدینہ میں ابتدائی دور میں مسلمان بیت المقدس کی طرف رخ کر کے نماز پڑھتے تھے۔ ایک دن نماز کے دوران اللہ تعالیٰ کی طرف سے حکم نازل ہوا کہ اب نماز کا قبلہ خانہ کعبہ ہوگا۔ یہ حکم سورۃ البقرہ میں نازل ہوا اور اسی وقت حضور ﷺ کو مسجد میں خبر دی گئی۔
صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم نے فوراً نماز کے دوران اپنا رخ بیت المقدس سے موڑ کر خانہ کعبہ کی طرف کر لیا۔ چونکہ ایک ہی نماز دو قبلوں کی طرف ادا ہوئی، اسی لیے اس مسجد کا نام مسجد قبلتین رکھا گیا۔
آج بھی دنیا بھر سے آنے والے زائرین اس تاریخی لمحے کی یاد میں مسجد قبلتین کا دورہ کرتے ہیں۔
